What is a Clothing Swap Party?
If you want something truly fun to do and are looking for the next theme for a great slumber party, or girls get together, then you should really thing about a clothing swap party. But what is a clothing swap party and how does it work? Well, this type of party is where you and your friends get together, have a great time and swap clothes. You don´t want to bring bad clothes, or even clothes that you don´t necessarily like. This is where you want to bring the nice clothes out, and have fun. The following tips will help you have a successful clothing swap party.
• Pick a date for your party and be sure to invite people that you think will have some cool clothes. You can even send out email invitations. In your invitation be sure to tell everyone to bring as many cool clothes as they can. The more clothes they gring the more you swap, and make sure that everyone replies to your email and informs you as to whether they can come or not.
• When everyone arrives make up three piles and put a value on the three pile. Make a cheap, a mid price,a nd an expensive pile.
• When your friends arrive have them put the clothes in the pile they believe they go in, then for each item they put in give them a ticket, so that they can pick an item. It is probably best to color code the piles and the little tickets.
• Put some music on and get the snacks out
• Have each person put their name on their tickets and put all of these in a bowl
• then have one person pull a name out of the bowl and let that person choose a clothing item from the pile that corresponds to them.
• If someone chooses an item that someone else wants, then that person must raise an objection. When there is an objection then you can play a competing game to let the two decide on who gets the item.
That´s really all there is to a clothing swap party, but the point is that this type of party can be extremely fun, and a little different than your usual weekly get together. You can have the swap party in the evening, at brunch or anytime of the day. Plus you will be recycling your clothing, getting new clothes without having to spend a lot of money to do it. This kind of activity can make being eco-friendly fun and exciting, but we need to keep our sight on the real objective here. The environment is being damaged by humanity. Just ten years ago, the climate changes we are experiencing today, could only be "guess-estimated" and today it is a reality. We see it when we hear of the uncommon tornados, floods, and tsunamis. To many people this has become common place, but to those of us who care, it is important that we learn to use sustainable eco friendly products, or recycled products, and one such way is by swapping clothes with friends, family and co-workers.
It really only takes a little innovation, creativity and desire to put in place some of these activities, but in the long run it is practices like garment swapping, buying recycled or eco-friendly garments, that will reduce the amount of pollutants we put into the environment.
